  Based in Helena, Montana with flexibility for some remote work, Cook Advisors is hiring a Tax Manager. 

Job Brief:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Manager to join our team. This role demands a professional with a solid understanding of tax laws and excellent strategic planning skills. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing our tax department, ensuring compliance with the latest tax regulations, and providing expert tax advice to our clients.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the tax department.
• Ensure compliance with state, federal, and international tax laws and regulations.
• Develop and implement effective tax strategies to minimize tax liability and coordinate audits with various taxation authorities.
• Review complex income tax returns.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and provide tax planning services.
• Stay current on industry trends and  changes in tax legislation.

Requirements and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. A CPA license or Master’s degree in Taxation is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 5 years of tax experience in a public accounting firm or a corporate setting.
• Strong knowledge of tax code, compliance and procedures for corporations.
• Familiarity with U.S. federal, state, and local reporting requirements.
• Familiarity with CCH Axcess Tax (and other CCH software) is a plus!
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
